iCandy Scissors is a premium professional hairdressing and barber scissors brand, trusted by hairstylists, barbers, apprentices and salon owners across Australia and internationally.
Founded in Australia by Mark Konrad in 2012, iCandy was built on professional salon-tool and scissor product-development experience dating back to 2006. The brand was created with one clear purpose: to develop high-performance professional scissors combining precision cutting, ergonomic comfort and distinctive design.
Every iCandy scissor is designed and developed by iCandy and manufactured by specialist production partners to iCandy’s specifications. Across our professional collections, model-specific premium steels including Japanese VG10 stainless steel are selected according to the design and intended cutting application, with careful attention given to blade geometry, balance, ergonomics and professional cutting performance.
After production, when the scissors arrive at iCandy Scissors HQ in Surfers Paradise, Queensland, Australia, every scissor is individually quality-controlled by iCandy, custom laser engraved, inspected again after engraving, then hand-packaged and labelled in custom-designed iCandy presentation packaging.
This hands-on finishing and quality-control process helps ensure every iCandy scissor meets our standards before it is carefully packed and dispatched to our professional customers.
Professional Scissor Development Since 2006
iCandy’s product-development story began before the brand itself was launched. Mark Konrad’s professional salon-tool and scissor development work dates to 2006, providing the foundation for the design approach that later became iCandy Scissors.
Early development focused on professional scissor form, handle ergonomics, blade options, tension systems, thinning and texturising configurations and other elements that would continue to influence later iCandy product generations.
When iCandy Scissors launched in 2012, that development experience became the basis of a dedicated professional scissor brand focused on combining performance, ergonomics and distinctive visual design.
Designed & Developed for Professionals
At iCandy, our designs are developed with professional hairdressing and barbering performance in mind, informed by experience with hairstylists and barbers working in real salon and barbershop environments. Each scissor is assessed for sharpness, balance, ergonomics and professional cutting performance before release.
Our collections span a wide range of professional needs, including professional hairdressing scissors, barber scissors, thinning scissors and texturising tools, swivel scissors, and professional scissor bundle deals — supporting techniques such as precision cutting, layering, texturising, fades and scissor-over-comb work.
Colour, Product Development & Original Style
Distinctive colour finishes have been part of the iCandy design identity from the brand’s earliest years. When iCandy launched in 2012, professional scissors were developed in multiple Teflon Nano colour finishes, including pink, blue, red, purple, yellow, white and orange.
This early colour-led approach sat alongside iCandy’s continuing development of professional ergonomics and tension systems, including the use of ball-bearing pivot technology across iCandy models from the brand’s early generation.
Rather than treating colour as a one-off styling exercise, iCandy continued refining distinctive finishes across later professional scissor platforms as materials, blade profiles, handle designs and cutting applications evolved.
By February 2015, iCandy had documented its original Rose Gold Professional Series, marking another important stage in the brand’s colour and product-development history.
That Rose Gold design direction continued through later generations including ELITE, DREAM, DAMA1 Rose Gold Damascus, LUXE/DAMA2, ALL STAR, SWORD PRO and today’s EVOLVE VG10 Collection.
