First launched in 2012, ATHENA is an original iCandy professional scissor design and became an important part of the development of the iCandy hairdressing and barber scissor range. Its distinctive ergonomic handle design, professional blade configurations and ball-bearing tension system became defining features of the ATHENA collection.
The original 2025 release documented below has been retained as part of the iCandy Scissors historical archive, preserving the development and history of ATHENA from its original 2012 launch through to its final production era.

In 2025, the iCandy ATHENA professional scissor range was re-engineered to deliver improved precision, smoother cutting performance and enhanced professional comfort for hairdressers and barbers.
ATHENA was originally introduced in 2012, making the 2025 release a celebration of 13 years of the original iCandy ATHENA design – 2012 to 2025.
⛩️ ATHENA – Timeless Mirror Polished Silver
The re-engineered ATHENA range retained the distinctive professional styling associated with the collection, including its mirror-polished silver finish, ergonomic offset handle design and ball-bearing tension system.
The collection included professional cutting scissors in multiple sizes together with ATHENA-CT thinning and ATHENA-TEX texturising configurations for professional hairdressing and barbering applications.
